The Rules had changed. Submissives were called slaves now, and the Doms paid extra for special service. Aiden assumed the slave position—kneeling with spread legs, his hands resting on his thighs, palms down, eyes downcast. A cuff circled his ankle, and a five-foot chain led from the cuff to a hook on the platform. His body was a mass of aching bruises, and he felt totally helpless as he waited to see who would pick him tonight. God, he’d been so naïve when the police arrested him. He really thought he’d get his life back. Now he knew better. Master Wright had assembled a stable of boys and housed them in an abandoned building under tight security. The slaves brought in big bucks at the parties, and Wright would never let them go. The first week had been brutal for Aiden. After the flogging, he woke dazed and confused. He tried to move, but he was bound with rope that had been secured to a bedframe. When he cried out for Sir, Master Wright appeared instead.

“So you’re finally awake. It’s about time.”

“You drugged me.”

Wright shrugged. “You started carrying on, yelling for that asshole you call Sir. Picking him was a big mistake, boy. You will regret it.”

But Aiden never did. It pleased him to learn that Sir was not a cop. For weeks, Aiden hung onto the image of the dark-haired Dom who made him burn. He told himself that Sir would come back to rescue him. Aiden knew it was a longshot, but hope kept him from going crazy. He looked for Sir at every party. Whenever a dark-haired man approached, Aiden’s heart lurched, but it was never Sir. Eventually the image started to fade and Aiden resigned himself to his new life.
